Earth Day Celebration
The Rappahannock Elementary School PTO is sponsoring an Earth Day 94 Festival to culminate its many activities throughout the week. The Earth Day 94 Festival is scheduled from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 23 at the Rappahannock Elementary School. Activities include games, environmental information booths, student displays, make and take craft tables, hotdogs and cake stands, and a yard sale. Come celebrate Earth Day with us,” said PTO President, Karol Graves.
Bloodmobile Coming
A bloodmobile sponsored by the Rappahannock Extension Homemakers Club will be held from 3:30-7:30 p.m. on May 11 at Washington fire hall. 1
Contestants Sought
The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department is seeking contestants for Honorary Fire Chief. The carnival will be held June 1-4. For more information call 987-8124 or 987-9024.
Arts Meeting Location Changed
Anyone interested in helping to form a community arts organization or umbrella arts council for the various arts groups in Rappahannock County are invited to attend an open meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 14 at the Rappahannock Library to discuss the prospect of developing or organizing such an agency. This is changed from the earlier keeting location at Lois Manookian’s. For more information call Page Smith at 987-9158. The public is invited.
Storyhour Continues
National Library Week is April 17-23. John McCarthy, County Administrator, and Ids wife Susan will be the guest storytellers during storyhour at 10:30 a.m. on April 19. Storyhour will end on April 26 when April Heddleston will present the program. All preschoolers and their parents are invited to participate in these free programs. Registration is not required.
