they did not have the opportunity to pick up any points from these events. The meet finished with 58 points each for Strasburg and Stonewall Jackson, and 41 points for RCHS.
The next track and field meet will be on April 13 against Clarke and Page at Page County.
The RCHS softball team won one out of two this past week, defeating George Mason last Friday, 12-6. Clarke County beat them on April 6, 10-7.
The RCHS baseball team did not have a good week. They lost both games by the slaughter rule, which states that if a team is already ahead by 15 runs after the fifth inning, the game is over. ,
Unfortunately, this was the case in both games last week. The Panthers lost to Clarke County on April 6, 2-19. At home, on April 8, George Mason beat RCHS 19-1.
In both games, the first innings were devastating for RCHS. Clarke scored 15 runs in the first inning, and George Mason scored six.
Coach Bob Howard said, “We are an exceptionally young team. Pitcher J.C. Welch has tendonitis in his shoulder, so we have been using young pitchers.” J.C. may return to the team this week.
