Holly Gangel of the RCHS track and field team finished second in the 3200 meter run against Strasburg and Stonewall Jackson last week, beating last year's state champion miler from Stonewall Jackson. Her time of 13:09, her personal best, knocked 40 seconds off her previous best time.
Jason Waters had his best jump yet in the high jump, clearing 5’10‘. That put him in second place, and Jaaon Settle jumped 5*8* to finish third.
Jason Waters and Mike Grimsley tied for first and second in the 3200 meter run with a time of 11:07. Mark Jenkins finished second in the 800 meter run, and Willie Shanks came in second in the 100 meter run.
The 4 x 100 relay team of Carlos Avelar, Andy Clanagan, Willie Shanks and Jason Settle won with a time of 48.7. ~ Mark Jenkins, Jason Waters, Jason Grimsley and Mike Grimsley finished second in the 4 x 400 relay with & time of 3:50.
