■UpiMhannock New« Staff Writer ' A draft of the county budget members of the Board of Supervisors received last week calls for a 69 cent tax rate on real estate, an 11.3 percent increase over the current rate of 62 cents.
Other tax rates, including the personal property rate show no increase.
The budget projects a total of $8,995,829 in revenue and $9,125,453 in expenses, a difference of $129,624.
“The budget includes no new spending initiatives, no new programs nor any additional or re-classified employees than are funded in the current year’s budget,” according to County Administrator John McCarthy. ; The draft budget includes full funding for the School Board and Library Board budgets, which do include new positions. Three percent pay raises, effective December 1, are included for county employees, including those whose salaries are set by the state. No raise is budgeted for Mr. McCarthy.
In fringe benefits the budget proposes to pick up the cost of the state’s Group Life Insurance for employees. This will add about $5,000 f to the budget, according to Mr. McCarthy. The cost for health insurance for county employees is
