The original proposal to install the new line was made by REC in response to many complaints about power outages received from customers served from the Rixeyville substation. Mr. Andrews agreed that those customers had experienced more power outages than most customers served by REC and said most of the problem was with the line from Virginia Power coming into the station. /
County Administrator John McCarthy, who was present at the press conference in Culpeper Monday, thanked Mr. Andrews for working out a solution that meets the needs and desires of the people in Rappahannock. “We appreciate it,” he said.
