He is also survived by two brothers, James Meade of Richmond and William Meade of Culpeper and one sister, Minnie Houdrshelt of Fredricksburg;
Additional survivors include nine grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 11 at Found & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Menefee officiating.
Interment followed in Culpeper National Cemetery with military honors.
Pallbearers were Franklin Jenkins, Jeff Jenkins, Michael Frazier, Charles L. Settle, Lee Cole, Kenny Leavell, Timmy Cole and Floyd Weakley.
Pearl Willihan
Pearl Cooper Willihan, 90, of Front Royal died Saturday, April 9 in Warren Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services were held on Tuesday, April 12 at Prospect Hill Cemetery with Rev. Peter Gustin.
Mrs. Wallihan was born Jan. 26, 1904, in Brown town, daughter of the late William Alvin and Cora Cameron Cooper. She was a member of the Episcopal Church. i
She was one of Front Royal’s earliest telephone operators and following her marriage to the late George Willihan, she worked for years with her husband at the Front Royal Livestock Market. She was an avid and lifelong horsewomen.
Surviving are a brother Rennie Cooper of Norfolk; four grandchildren, Wade Willihan Massie of Bristol, Michael Miller Massie of Washington, Mary Brooke Massie of Huntly and George Hampton Massie of Washington and six great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one daughter, Grace Willihan Massie.
Honorary pallbearers were Dallas H. Reid, Dr. Edwin Eastham, Alton Morrison, Brooks Mims, Dr. Dennis McCarty, Robert Long and James Hight. i Contributions may be made to the Warren Heritage Society, 101 Chester Street, Front Royal, Va. 22630.
