Mr. Claiborne is a native of Sunflower, Mississippi, but now resided in New York City and has a second home on Long Island. He was the ‘ restaurant critic for The New York Times for 25 years, and, according to Mr. O’Connell, has written more cookbooks than anyone besides' James Beard.
