The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board invites persons 60 years of age and older to participate in the following Health Promotion;Screening Programs to be held at the Rappahannock Senior Nutrition Center:

Program on “Depression in the Elderly” by Gary Rafala at 11:30 a.m. on March 13. Programs by two volunteers, Sid and Margaret Gottlieb at 12 noon on March 15 and blood pressure checks by Marion Sharp, RN at 11:30 a.m. on March 24.

Dinner Honoring Andy Guest

The third annual Friends of Scouting dinner will be held at the Shenandoah Valley Country club in Front Royal at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 17. The dinner will honor Raymond “Andy” Guest. For more information call Bill Sharp at 937-5000.

Sustainable Agriculture Conference

The ninth annual Virginia Sustainable Agriculture Conference will be held March 17-19 at Camp Blue Ridge, Montebello, Va.

The farm tour on Friday, March 17 includes the Cyrus McCormick Homeplace/Shenandoah Valley Agriculture Research Station, Buffalo Springs Herb Farm, and Red Gate Farm where Red Polled cattle are raised ecologically.

Beekeepers To Meet

The Northern Piedmont Beekeepers Association will hold is March meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 16 at the Culpeper Cooperative Extension Service building, at the comer of South West Street and Davis Street. The program will feature management for the honey flow and swarm prevention. All are welcome: prospective beekeepers, new beekeepers and experienced beekeepers. For further information contact J.C. Dance at Amissville

Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will have a dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on March 25 with the band River Bottom. For reservations call 937-4357.
