water is getting into the roofing material, and while it is not leaking yet, that is only because the roofing material is absorbing the water. The guarantee on the roof expired last spring.

He said he expects to ask for similar amounts over the next several years to replace the roof over the rest of the original building. The guarantee on that roof runs out this spring.

The roof over the gym and cafeteria would be a rubber product with sloping insulation under it. A low peaked metal roof would be used over the rest of the building.

The school system will be receiving $51,300 from the state for expanding technology. To qualify it must budget at least $7,695 for training staff in the use of technology. Dr. Gangel included that in the salary for a person to help develop a network for the schools and service computers.

The budget also includes $26,300 for a grant writer. Dr. Gangel said normally such a person can cover his salaiy in the grants received.

This is the year for the census of children that is used by the state to compute how much sales tax money the county gets for education. $5,500 is included for that.
