Karl Bricker, Sr.
Karl Merle Bricker, Sr., 68, of Columbus, Ohio, died on Feb. 28 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital.
He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He was a member and past Deacon of Karl Road Christian Church, past President of the Ohio Wheelchair Athletic Association, Recipient of Leo Yassenoff Memorial Award (OWAA) 1979, Columbus Dispatch Community Service Award finalist 1988, and American Cancer Society Courage Award 1992.
He was a well-known participant in the annual Crop Walk and raised the largest amount of money for this event by an individual.
