He also said he was concerned that Susan Fox’s position as drop-out coordinator at the high school was considered for elimination. “Can’t we find anything better than that to cut? What could be more important than • keeping kids in school?”
He said, “We spend a lot of money in this county. I’m not sure we properly manage it.”
He said he was concerned that most votes on the Board of Supervisors are unanimous. “I don’t want to critique specific issues,” he said, “but there are some things you can’t compromise on.”
Mr. Welch works for General Electric as a technical instructor based in Charlottesville. He travels around the country in his job giving technical instruction for industrial factory equipment.
