Amissville Carnival Set
Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department’s annual carnival is set for June 21-24. Family night is Wednesday. Parade will be held Thursday evening, June 22. To enter, call J.B. Carter, 937-4218.

Dinner/Ball Fundraiser Set
In honor of the 25th anniversary of the George Washington Carver Alumni Association a dinner/ball fundraiser is planned for Saturday, May 27.
The event will be held at Crystal Gateway Marriott from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. benefiting George Washington Carver’s Memorial Plaque. The allyou-can-cat dinner buffet will be semi-formal and no tickets will be sold at the door. The association is asking for a $40 per person donation.

Band Gala Planned
The fourth annual Band Gala will be at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 25 in the RCKS Auditorium. The evening will begin with the newly formed Rappahannock County Jazz Finsemble performing “At the Hop.” Next, the RCF/S Beginning Band will play several pieces including “Rockin’ Drummers." A variety of styles from blues and rock to a traditional march will be presented by the RCES Blue Band.
The evening will conclude with the combined RCES Gold Bank and the RCHS Band performing the mystical “Korean Folk Rhapsody” and Shostakovich’s complex “Festive Overture.” You won’t want to miss this exciting event!
Advisory Committee Meeting
The final Special F'ducation Advisory Committee for the 1994/95 school year will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 25 in room 23 at the high school (Mrs. Logan’s room). A PBS documentary, “Educating Peter,” will be shown. The meeting is open to the public.
Flint Fiill Carnival Set
Carnival dates for the Flint Hill Fire Department have been set for July 26-29. The parade will be held on Friday this year. For more information call 675-3389.
Camp Scheduled Set
Girls and boys ages 11-17 are invited to enjoy a camping trip this weekend, May 27-29 in the Blue Ridge Mountain near Graves Mill in Madison County. For more details call 937-TASC.
Paul and Joanie Oesterreicher are donating a Canadian Wilderness trip this summer to a lucky teen chosen by the JefTersonton Ruritan Club. Winner will be announced June 1. The winner can choose from three Canadian camps planned for June 24 — July 7; July 15-28; or Aug. 5-18.
