She also said the county’s selection may mean additional money coming into the county to help with day care and transportation. She is not sure how existing programs under which some people have been working part time will be affected or whether it will be possible under the new program, as it has been in the past, to help clients purchase and repair cars.
Mrs. Leathers noted that the coun-. ty has only about 30 cases on AFDC; and said it wouldn’t take a large number of changes to reflect a huge percentage of change.
She said she plans to get together with local employers “to see what help we can get and try to develop I things.” ;
She added, “I do think it’s kind of neat our planning district is one of the early birds. Usually we haven’t been in that position.”
