Members of the Rappahannock Tennis Team played against several other counties on Sunday. The matches are sponsored by the USTA, which is the governing body for such prestigious tournaments as the US. Open held in New York. Many of the participating teams are from AAA high schools so the competition was very tough.

Rappahannock entered two teams, a 14 and under team, and a boys’ high school team for those 18 years and younger. The boys’ team consisted of Willie Eastham, Chris Kerr, Adam Boutfard, Griffin Ward and Rob Reeve. They played boys from Spotsylvania and Stafford Counties. Despite their lack of practice time, they all played hard. Rob Reeve won a match 10-2. Adam Bouffard and Griffin Ward played the two best matches of the day, Adam losing 9-7
