R.C.H.S. Athletic Banquet Set The Rappahannock County High School Athletic Department will sponsor its Annual Banquet in the R.C.H.S. Gymnasium at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31. Tickets can be purchased in the office at the High School. All tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets will be $4 per person except for Varsity athletes who get in for free. Bawkey Reunion Planned The family of William Claude and Fannie Cobb Bawkey will have their family reunion on Sunday, May 28 at the Rappahannock Park near Washington. Family and friends are invited. Please bring a covered dish. Lunch will be served at 12 noon.
Sperryville Carnival Scheduled The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department will have their annual carnival May 31, June 1,2 and 3. Wednesday night will feature a special ride all evening for one low price. The parade will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday evening. Crowning of the queen will be held on Friday evening and awarding of prizes on Saturday. Prizes this year will include a $500 first prize and $100 for the second, third and fourth prizes. The community is urged to support the carnival. There will be fun, food and games for all each evening.
FestivalMembership Drive Set The Rappahannock County Farmers' Association will sponsor a Festival and Membership Drive from 5 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, June 3 at Windsor Lodge Farm near Flint Hill. There will be a barbecue dinner and raffle of a three year old Angus cow and calf. Music will be provided the Ronnie Poe country band and there will be a silent auction. Tickets are $35 per couple which includes dinner for two and two raffle tickets or $18 per person uhich includes dinner and one raffle ticket. Children under 12 will be admitted free. Fund Raising Drive Underway Boy Scout Troop #200 of Flint Hilleis having a fund-raising drive to start a new troop and send Scouts to camp. Scouts will do yard work7odd jobs on Saturday afternoons as a troop. Bake sale will be held May 27. Donations of money, bake goods and jobs will be greatly appreciated.
