Virginia’s governor and its General Assembly acted to abolish parole, and then the Democratic controlled General Assembly refused to build any more than 25 percent of the prison space necessary to house the expected growth in prison attendance thereby creating mdre problems for some localities with jail overcrowding.
Mr. Reeve has also referred to the tax cuts to families as $33 per year. This may have been true for some, but a tax cut is always more important than the fluff and fat of a “Dickie Cranwell budget.” I happen to agree with Gov. Allen, Sen. Kevin Miller, and Del. Jay Katzen that families know best how to spend their monies.
Mr. Reeve and the Virginia Democrats he supports like their cousins up in “Big” Washington can’t tell the difference between a “cut" and slowing of the growth of spending on the various programs. Actually the funding for localities would have increased.
