Christina Luke of Washington received a medal of excellence for achieving results in the 96th to 100th percentile on a nationwide test of mythology, and Steven Dowell of Washington received a certificate of excellence for placing between the 93rd and 95th percentile. They are students at Wakefield Country Day School in Huntly. The questions tested the students’ knowledge of Greek and Roman gods, goddesses, and heroes, as well as the works of Homer and Vergil.
John Mallory
Completes Basic Army Pvt. John W. Mallory has completed basic training at Fort Leonard E. Wood in Missouri. During the training, students received instruction in drill, weapons, map reading, tactics and Army hisjtory and traditions. He is the son of Jennifer M. Gray and stepson of Hazel R.
