23rd Homecoming Planned Gid Brown Bible Baptist Church will have their 23rd annual Homecoming service, Sunday, June 4. There will be special singing with old fashion string instruments by the Rochester family from Blacksburg, S.C. Singing will begin at 10 a.m. and preaching by Scott Matthews at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served at 12 noon. The Rochesters will be singing again at 2 p.m. and Scott Matthews will preach at 2:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Church Plans Dinner; Movie Wouldn’t you enjoy taking the family out for dinner and a movie without needing to mortgage the farm to pay for it? The Amissville United Methodist Women’s Night Circle has the solution! On Saturday, June 3 from 5-6:30 p.m. there will be a ham dinner complete with cole slaw, green beans, boasted potatoes, hot rolls, drinks and dessert. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children 10 years and under. At 6:30 there will be the showing of the movie, “The Eye of the Storm” starring Connie Selleca (“Hotel”) and Jeff Conaway (“Taxi”). This is a wonderful movie for the entire family . There will be a love offering following the movie. The church is located in Amissville on U.S. 211.
