Mr. Frazier said he is concerned that the county is too dependent on taxes on houses for its revenue. “If we don’t find ways to expand the tax base, all we’re doing is taxing houses. Houses don’t pay for themselves. We have to have some sort of mixture of commercial, light industry and residential to keep public schools afloat without horrendously high taxes.”
