Summer camp is an experience many people find to be one of their fondest childhood memories. Every year the veterans find their way back to their favorite camps while the ■ rookies,with their parents assistance, sort through piles of brochures in a search for one that meets their criteria.
This year was no exception and on Monday, June 26 the first day of 4H Day Camp campers awoke early so they could be at their bus stops on time. These stops included Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington which left at 8:30 a.m. and Mayhugh’s in Amissville which departed at 8 a.m.
After a noisy ride to the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center in Harmony Hollow the children got off the buses and found their group leaders. They then had roll call and sang songs. “We sang the ‘Bushy Tail Squirrel’ one, but they didn’t do it right.” said Jessica Lee, age six.
After this the group went to their fifst class. For some this was kite making, a course taught by Heidi Eastham. “We helped make a huge
