Attorneys from around the Commonwealth of Virginia have mobilized to provide free disasterrelated legal assistance to flood victims.
Legal help is available for disaster victims who face insurance issues, landlord-tenant problems, home repair contracts, home solicitation, lost legal papers, and more.
The Crisis Task Force of the Virginia State Bar and the Virginia Bar Association in coordination with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Virginia Department of Emergency Services, hse arranged for volunteer attorneys to staff Disaster Application Centers at Madison County High School and in Rockbridge County.
The centers will be open through Saturday from 9 a m. until 7 p.m.
Interested persons should remember to bring to the center any available legal documents relating to their questions, such as insurance policies, contracts, leases, mortgage papers, social security cards and so forth.
