Together, she and Brian Ross bring to their expanded venture 40 years of experience in, or related to, food merchandising.
Mrs. Ross’s enterprises were a fixture in the town of Washington for two decades. She opened Nature’s Foods in the old Rush River Gallery in 1975, hopped a street over to the Ice House in 1978, and when she outgrew that space, moved to the post office building at the center of town with both a natural foods store and a restaurant, Nature’s Qafe. But raising children and running a busy seven-day-aweek operation proved too demanding, so she retrenched and reorganized to a renamed natural and gourmet foods store in the white frame house across the street from Trinity Church.
Mr. Ross was vice-president for marketing at Ross Industries in Midland for 20 years. “We produced food processing machinery for the big supermarkets and restaurant chains,” he explained. “So I spent hundreds and hundreds of hours selling to and talking to the corporate executives, and in the process, I
