Davis
Alexander Kirkland (Kirk, A.K.) Davis, 43, of Washington died on June 27 in Rappahannock County.
He was bom on Sept. 3, 1951, in Columbia, S.C., the son of the late Thomas William Smith Davis Sr. and Lucy Kirkland Davis.
Mr. Davis was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School and received an Associate Degree in Accounting from the University of Virginia. / He was a former Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America in Rappahannock County.
He enjoyed an active and productive life and received joy in assisting all.
He spent many years driving tractor trailers. In the CB world his handle was Cadillac Jack.
While employed by Atlantic Equipment/McKinney Drilling he transported pipeline and augers to the jobsite for the Alaskan Pipeline. He later worked with Georgia Pacific, then the Martin-Brower Corporation, the regional distributor for McDonalds.
As a self employed timber co'ntractor he was an expert harvester of select cutting hardwoods.
He was a concerned environmentalists and a speaker with the Department of Forestry in Virginia on timber harvesting while preserving the ecology.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Davis; a son, Alexander Kirkland Davis Jr. of Washington; a daughter, Dominique Marie and her husband, Ryan Joseph Schlunz and a grandson, Skylar Ryan Schlunz, all of Alexandria.
He is also survived by a brother, T.W.S. Davis Jr. and his wife, Gretchen, and their children, Carol and Lucy Davis, all of Warrenton.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 3 at Moser Funeral, 233 Broadview Ave, Warrenton with the Rev. Steve Scroggins of Waynesboro officiating.
Interment will be private.
