Democratic challenger Sue Scheer took the offensive saying “who we are, why we live her, and what we want for our families is not being defended by the man who represents us today in Richmond.” 1 She said she got into the race to “make things better.” She said Del. Katzen and Gov. George Allen have “outsider’s agenda”s for this region. Specifically, she criticised the effort to support the Disney theme park in western Prince William. “Gerge Allen and Jay Katzen bought the whole package, gave away SI60 million of taxpayers dollars. They told us we’d all come out ahead. Well, a lot of us around here didn’t buy it, and decided to make the fight. My entire family spent the better part of a year in a very lopsided battle. And all the while we listened to Allen and Katzen tell us it was a ‘done deal.’” • She called Gov. Allen’s policies “a total assault on the environment” and said “There’s a better way to guarantee clean air and water and still guarantee jobs for our children.”
She said she dreamed of being able to live in this part of Virginia, and her dream came true. “After 30 years, I think I know where we all live and why we live here. We’re not afraid of change.
