A bigger and better Mountainside Market has edged closer to the mountains to give Rappahannock County its first honcst-to-goodness grocery store.
For those whose business takes them regularly to — or through — Warrenton, Culpeper or Front Royal, the county’s lack of a supermarket is hardly noticed. But for others who make the weekly 30-to60 mile trip to there and back again - just for groceries, the opening of an expanded Mountainside Market in nearby Sperryville is an event. In fact, the news value of the occurrence matches that of Giant coming to. Warrenton 10 years ago; these days, just as when Giant arrived in 1986, at any gathering of more than « half-dozen Rappahannock people, someone’s bound to ask, “Have you been to the new store?”
