Weight Control Club Planned
Virginia Cooperative Extension is sponsoring a youth weight control camp Aug. 27-31 at the Northern Virginia 4-H Center, Front Royal. “Camp Lighten Up” helps teach boys and girls to develop health weight control practices, better eating habits, and improve self esteem and body concept. Open to boys and girls ages 9-14. The Camp costs $110.
Registration deadline is July 31. For a registration brochure or further information, contact the Rappahannock Office.
4-H Fundraiser Planned
Cedar Mountain 4-H will have a clay shooting fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 22. Cost will be 25 shots for $7.50. For more information call 543-2070.
School Board Candidates Forum
The First Thursday Education Support Group is looking for individuals and other local groups who share an interest in sponsoring a “Meet the School Board Candidates Night” this fall. An organizational meeting is planned for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 3. Rappahannock County Library Community Room. All are welcome. The First Thursday Education Support Group is a local group of parents, teachers and others interested in exchanging ideas and information on education issues, and advocating for positive support of quality education for Rappahannock County children. Picnic*, Awards Ceremony Set
The RAA end-of-year picnic that was canceled on June 24 has been rescheduled for July 15. The dishes to be provided are the same and the buffet will start at 11 a.m. Bring your own drinks. The awards ceremony will start at 2 p.m.

Hospice Training Scheduled
Hospice of the Rapidan is recruiting volunteers for training that begins in early September. Hospice training prepares volunteers for vital work with terminally ill people in Rappahannock County and other counties in the PD 9 area.
