The Allen Real Estate Co. and Chestnut Forks Tennis and Fitness Club will be hosting tennis tournaments to benefit Fauquier Family Shelter Services, starting July 24 and running through August 21.
There will be competition at three levels for men and women in singles, doubles and mixed doubles and for junior players for doubles and singles in three age groups.
Entry fees are $10 per person for singles and $20 per team for doubles. Each player or team must supply a new can of tennis balls for matches. The winner advances with the unopened can.
The tournament is open to residents or employees of Fauquier, Culpeper and Rappahannock counties as well as members of Chestnut Forks, Culpeper and Middleburg tennis clubs.
The matches will be played on the outdoor courts at Chestnut Forks. The indoor courts will be used in case of rain.
Chestnut Forks will schedule the matches, and matches must be played at the scheduled time. Play will get underway with women’s doubles July 24 to 31 and end with mixed doubles August 16-21. On Sunday August 20 there will be a complimentary picnic beginning at noon.
