Thank you all who participated in the Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue carnival — those who attended in spite of the weather, worked stands, donated money, purchased tickets or provided food. It requires much preparation and coordination.
Special thanks to my “chicken fryers”: an elderly lady crippled with arthritis and walking with two canes; a lady who has recently had hip: replacement surgery; and a lady who had out-of-town guests to entertain. They are what 1 call Volunteers with a capital “V.”
No less appreciated are those who baked beans or cakes, deviled eggs, made potato salad, etc. They are also! the ones called on often, for I know; they will respond and are dependable! •
Monetary contributions were many and generous. Thanks.
And to those who did not respond, if you have trouble, the firp and rescue volunteers will answer, your call anyway. !
