VDOT and
Rappawan
Thanked
To the Editor:
We would like to take this opportunity to thank VDOT for such prompt action is securing a contractor to repair Route 629 as well as commend Rappawan and its employees for the many diligent hours of hard work during the past few weeks following the flood.
This group of individuals went above and beyond the call of duty working non-stop 12 to 14 hours a day. This was straight through the Fourth of July holiday and into the following weekend.
What started out as an indefinite time without a “road” turned into a miracle after only a few short days. The residents of Route 629 in Flint Hill would like to say “Thank You” from the bottom of our hearts for * being so responsive to our needs.
Our hats are off to you!

Has Had
Grocery Store
To the Editor:
Without intending to detract from the many compliments bestowed upon the new Mountainside Market by the writer in last week’s paper (July 5, Section B, p. 1), 1 do think it was a bit unkind of her to have referred to Mountainside as Rappahannock’s “first honest-togoodness grocery store.”
