On July 4, Steven G. Price Jr., 24, of Spotsylvania, was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), driving on a revoked license and hit and run.
According to State Trooper Wayne Sumner, Mr. Price was driving eastbound at a high rate of speed on U.S. 211 near the Pine Knot Inn when he lost control of his 1986 Chevy 2-door and struck the guardrail on the left side of the road. He then careened back on U.S. 211 another 25 feet and struck the guardrail a second time. This time, though, Mr. Price’s vehicle spun around and showered a passing car with rocks and gravel damaging its paint job.
