She is survived by three stepdaughters, Virginia Thornhill of Boston, Edna Payne and Eva Karnes, both of Culpeper; several cousins, a great niece, a great nephew and ten step-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 9 at Geest Funeral Home in Culpeper with the Rev. John S. Farrar officiating.

Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper.

Pallbearers were Jeffrey Karnes, William Karnes, Steve Karnes. Kenneth Payne, Leslie Wood and Freddie Butler.

Harvey Gordon

Funeral service for Harvey Lee Gordon, 65, of Daytona Beach, Fla were conducted Tuesday, July 1 1 from the Elkton Chapel of the Kyger & Trobaugh Funeral Home with the Rev. W.L. Mengebier officiating.

Burial will be at Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton.

Mr. Gordon died from an apparent heart attack on July 6 in Madison while visiting family and friends.

He was born March 4, 1930, at Elkton and was the son of the late Benjamin Harrison and Mary Alice Davis Gordon.

He served with the U.S. Arms from 1950 to 1953.

Following his return from the military' he owned and operated the H & J Grocery at Sperryville until retiring to Daytona, Fla.

His wife, Julia Watts Go'rdon, died Aug, 21, 1992.

Surviving are a son, Harvey Gordon II of Yuma. Ariz.; a daughter. Julia Ann Gordon of Culpeper; a companion, Hazel Harris of Madison, two brothers, Floyd Gordon and Benjamin Franklin Gordon, both of Madison County and five grandchildren.
