FARM SHOW HAPPENINGS: From top left clockwise: “Sadie Mae,” a cocker spaniel-retriever mix belonging to and shown by Rebecca Clatterbuck of the 4-H 4-Paws Dog Club in Culpeper, was deemed to be the best dressed for the costume class at the dog show on Sunday; David Massie was a big winner this year. Here he was working in the stall area taking care of one of his cows. Besides being fun, the Farm Show is a lot of hard work; Vickie Watts of Brightwood gave spinning demonstrations and information on types of wool. She raises Angora goats; there was constant musical entertainment going on in the big tent and many took a load off their feet to stop, sit, listen and enjoy; Leslie Holt of Madison and “Bets” were all dressed up for the pretty animal contest. “Bets” was decked out as a bovine majorette; Tasha Lewis of Culpeper had fun trying out one of the many forms of entertainment for kids provided by 4-H clubs at the farm show. This was one of three figures where kids could have their pictures taken. In addition there were games, animal rides, animal petting areas, exhibits, camel, elephant and pony rides, great food and more. Results from the competitions and sales will be listed in next week’s paper.
