What’s town’s
real agenda
Does anyone really
believe that the
Washington Town Council wants to expand the town boundaries and build a sewage treatment plant for the purpose of keeping the town the way it is?
A sewage treatment plant won’t control development. It will cause it to explode.
The county Board of Supervisors has done a good job of preventing uncontrolled development. The Washington Town Council’s plan will undercut our county zoning requirements by allowing massive new development in the annexed area.
Many people I’ve talked with believe there is an unstated agenda behind the Town Council’s proposals.
A sewage treatment plant could enable The Inn to expand and swallow the town. Some people want to rezone land so that they can build low-income townhouses, condominiums or apartments.
