Richmond - Himself a product of Virginia's public education system, Jim Gilmore, Republican candidate for Governor, pledged a renewed commitment to Virginia's school students by first adding 4,000 new teachers in Virginia's elementary schools.
"It's no secret that smaller class sizes are critical to providing the kind of one-on-one attention that many children need to excel," said Gilmore. "We need classrooms where the full potential of each child is developed and realized - not classrooms where children are treated like numbers."
