before dinner they found some moth balls at the Corner Store. Martin didn’t say everything smelled lovely, but he did say nobody mentioned the skunk and that the evening went well.
Faith Mountain has four picnics a year when they give away door prizes, but for the 20th anniversary celebration every employee had a winning number. The prizes included lottery tickets, a decorated birdhouse, clocks, dishes, placemats, framed pictures, and two envelopes with $150 cash.
According to Judy Cornwell, the human resources manager, the picnics are to foster company morale and spirit, to congregrate, to communicate and to celebrate (Faith Mountain’s 3 “Cs”).
Cheri, president and cofounder of Faith Mountain, has said since the company began that she wants it to be a place where she would like to shop and work.
After the picnic Jim Eastham, vice-president of operations and son of the late Dr. Edwin Eastham of Front Royal, offered to take me on a tour of the company.
