Reading program to close
The Rappahannock County Library’s Summer Reading Program will have its grand finale on Friday night, Aug. 1, at 7 p.m. in the Library. Puppets with Pizzazz, starring Jim Tucker and Mimi Butler will give their customary performance and prizes and awards will be given out immediately afterwards. Each child who took part will be given a certificate and allowed to choose a free paperback book. The program is free and open to the public and refreshments will be served, so mark your calendars and come.
Jenkins family reunion set
Family reunion of John H. (Johnnie) and Betty Jane (Janie) Jenkins will be held Aug. 3 at the Washington fire hall from 1 until 5 p.m. Bring food and drinks to share. All are invited.
Fundraiser rescheduled
The annual meeting and fund-raiser of the Rappahannock County Historical Society has been rescheduled from Aug. 8 to Saturday, Sept. 6 at 6:30 p.m. It will be held at the home of the society’s president Doug Baumgardner.
