“Due to the length of the terms it will be rare that we bump up against this but it’s far better to have them than not have them,” she said. All members agreed her points were valid and that the board will remain with the set term limits.

Library Director David Shaffer reported that the telephone problem had been fixed and that Sprint had provided the library with a more up-todate set of phones at no cost. Sprint only charged for the work to repair the line.

The library will close the day after Christmas, Shaffer said, but will be open Jan. 2.

Shaffer also reported that he has completed the revision of the Five Year Plan. The board expressed its appreciation for all the work he did.

The library’s expenditures through October were $30, 594. 05, which represents a third of the fiscal year.
