As it stands now the road is safe because it is a winding narrow gravel road, and because human beings use common sense when they drive on gravel. They don’t speed on gravel. They do speed when a road is paved and VDOT has information to back this.
There is a greater danger if you pave than if you don’t pave. We would like to ask Mr. Anderson if he could get over it after the road is paved and the trees are all cut and some kid speeds on the road and spins out of control and dies or is injured anyway.
Or may we ask how he has lived with his conscience over the last 14 years knowing that this life-threatening situation exists, without him doing anything about it.
Every week we pick up beer cans and bottles along the ditches of Route 621, that have been thrown out of the car windows. We presume it is by kids drinking illegally
