Video to be shown
A stimulating and provocative video called “Blacks and Jews” will be presented by the Havura Katuna at the Rappahannock Library on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 2 p.m.
This story is one of predjudice and the fight against it. A lot of plain honest feelings of both blacks and Jews are expressed, such as when a black Chicago neighborhood is bought out by real estate speculators, leaving blacks out on the street. Hollywood’s Stephen Spielberg and Richard Pryor are also featured in this documentary.
Citrus fruit pickup set
Those individuals ordering citrus fruit from the Rappahannock Band Boosters should note that pickup is scheduled for Dec. 11 and Dec. 12 from 2 to 4:45 p.m. and on Dec. 13 from 7 to 11:45 a.m. at the Rappahannock Farmers Coop.
Free health screenings set
The Rappahannock County Health Department will be offering free cholesterol screening sponsored by Fauquier Hospital, free blood pressure screening and free glucose screening on Friday, Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. There will also be additional health tips offered at the same time.
4-H Clubs to meet
The new 4-H Computer Club will meet Thursday, Dec. 18 at the Rappahannock County Extension Office at 7 p.m. This 4-H Club is geared toward children 11 years and older.
The 4-H Small Animal Club will meet on Saturday, Dec. 20 at the Extension Office at 2 p.m. for an informative meeting on finding injured wildlife presented by wildlife rehabilitator Amo Merritt. For more information, please call the Rappahannock County Extension Office at 6753619.

Dance at Amissville
Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company is scheduling a dance for Dec. 20 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Proper dress is required. For additional information call 937-5282.
Wakefield open house
Wakefield School in The Plains will host an admissions open house on Sunday, Dec. 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. The public, and especially prospective students and their parents, are invited. Admissions testing for rising 5th- 12th graders will take place on Saturday, Dec. 13, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Call Wakefield at 253-5393 to reserve a space.
