Citizens opposed to paving and other road improvements express concern that truck traffic and speeding will increase as a result, making the roads more dangerous while sacrificing the rustic beauty of the county.

Estes disagrees. In his opinion, “paving roads has a very minor impact on traffic loads and increased population.” He believes that truckers will use the shortest, most direct routes available, because time spent driving is money.
