along Route 621, since adults have more comfortable places to drink.

Enforcing drinking and driving laws in the county would probably contribute to the safety of our secondary roads a lot more than paving them.

Mr. Anderson used a trigger sentiment when he employed the word “safe.” We need to be serious when we employ these words and not throw them around for effect. On our small stretch of road alone, there live two people whose lives have been dramatically altered because of car accidents that they did not cause. If they had not been on roads where cars go 55 mph, neither of these accidents would have been so life threatening.

The surest route to safety is slow driving. Can’t we be permitted to have one mile of secondary road where the natural winding and narrow nature of the road eliminates the threat of speeders?
