The Red Nose Sale is an incredibly large and diverse show at the Middle Street Gallery that has drawn not only the regular artists, but also a number of new exhibitors, many who are county residents.
June Jordan, curator of the show, said it was a difficult show to hang, not just because of the volume, but because of the variety. The show has jewelry, prints, paintings, sculpture, note cards, books, pottery and furniture. Sales are brisk, but many beautiful items are still available.
“Early morning,” an oil painting about 18 by 24 inches by Chris Stevens may catch your eye on entering, but it is worth a second look. “It is just plain good art,” said artist Sandra Burton who was working at the Gallery on Sunday. The rich colors, strong light and
