A sure route
to safety
The purpose of this letter is
to address the issue of safety on our secondary roads. We are responding to Bob Anderson’s quoted statement in an article last week in the Rappahannock News where he said “quietly”: “I don’t think I would ever get over it if some kid hit that tree after we determined that it was safe.”
May we please point out that that dangerous lifethreatening tree has been standing beside the road for some 100 years and we find no records anywhere of anyone hitting it. It is a very large, white and gray sycamore, and you would have to be blind drunk or driving way over the speed limit to hit it.
