A winter storm drowned the county in rain, and parts of it in snow and ice last week.
The heavy rainfall, following even heavier rainfall the previous week, left streams and rivers swollen and caused some flooding.
Skyline Drive and areas of the Shenandoah National Park in the :ounty were closed due to hazardous road conditions and downed trees which collapsed or lost branches under :he weight of ice which accumulated as :he storm raged.
