Rappahannock Nows Staff Writer ■ ' The Rappahannock High .School varsity volleyball team beat Manassas Park in two of' three hard fought games with 'scores of 15/12 and 19/17. > Their opponents from Manassas Park appeared tough — they got traction on , the floor by rubbing spit on their gym shoes — but the Rappahannock players perseverance and teamwork . brought them a hard-fought victory.
The Manassas Park team started serving the first game, scored and stayed ahead until Courtney Mauro’s, No. 13, low Serves and the teams’ quick .returns raised the score by four points to 10/8,
However, Manassas Park scored the next seven points with especially strong serves and won the game 15/10.
