Dodd thinks the idea is superb. “Kids in this area don’t get it (art) in the schools and so this type of class provides them with an opportunity to learn basics and rules. They can then go on to develop their own style and work at what interests them.”
The summer youth class is for ages eight to 14 and will take around 20 kids, Dodd said. The camp will have a theme (not yet decided) and each day the kids will work on that theme using a variety of mediums — paint, pencil, pen and ink, charcoal and even clay for some sculpting.
