Tragic accident leaves local woman
in serious condition, in need of funds
Sharon Scott of Amissville was seriously injured in
an automobile accident last Wednesday. She has
suffered some brain damage and was partial paralysis. When someone is badly injured in an accident it always seems senseless. When that person is one who has given so selflessly to the community he or she lives in it seems even more so.
Scott, a dedicated volunteer, has worked with the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department for more than 10 years. She has been the one there to help others in emergency situations and now she needs your help.
She is presently at Fairfax Hospital and her recovery will be a long and difficult. The extent to which she will retover is, of course, unknown. But surely she will find strength and the will to persevere if she has the community’s support.
She will need help with the long-term care and therapy costs and a fund has been organized for that purpose. Anyone wishing to help should make checks payable to Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Co. Inc., earmarked Sharon Scott Fund, P.O. Box 147, Amissville, Va. 20106, Attention: Sarah Latham.
