Vandy Solomon, 30, is a native of Oregon who studied history and art history and worked at the Smithsonian Museum and the National Portrait Gallery Exhibition. Working as Oasis’ financial manager, she, is held in high esteem by Solomon who said it was her initiative and determination that paid off his credit card bills.
Paul Reisler, Trapezoid musician, always talked about how beautiful the area was, said Vandy Solomon, and he urged them to visit. Loving to hike they finally visited the county and stayed at the Conyers’ House because it was the only bed and breakfast that allowed them to bring a dog. They enjoyed their visit at the Conyers’ House so much that for their wedding two years ago, they had Norman Cartwright-Brown, a celebrant, marry them in a pasture. The following day they visited Brown’s son’s house in Woodville and, it being for sale, they bought it.
They used it as a weekend house while living and working in College Park, Md.
Oasis is open Monday through Friday from 10 a m. to 6 p.m. and is located at 659 Zachary Taylor Highway.
