The Virginia Historic Landmarks Commission has announced that Montpelier, located in the F.T. Valley of Rappahannock County, is included in the new register selections. Montpelier is “the most historically noted and architecturally imposing early plantation house remaining in Rappahannock County.” Mrs. Frances Foster of Washington has been appointed to fill the vacancy which will be left by the resignation of Rappahannock County Treasurer, Robert L. Brown of Woodville.
