As a citizen of
Rappahannock County and a 10 year citizen of Woodville, I would like to express my gratitude to the people of the Woodville community for putting so much time and effort into creating the “Woodville Festival.” It was a great family event. In the times in which we live it is nice to see an event that offers good, old fashioned fun.
I would like to say a great big thank you to one of Woodville’s fine youth, Steve Von Fange. Steve' did a superb job with traffic control. This was an enormous responsibility for a young man and his friends. Steve has proven to our pessimistic world that there are responsible and upright youth among us. Thank you, Steve, for keeping our families and , friends safe.
There is a tremendous amount of work that goes into a project of this magnitude. It is hard to fathom the extent of it all; until you have served on such a committee. The people that served on this committee deserve a great big helping of gratitude and appreciation. Here are some of those people: Sue Butler, Jackie Porter, Bob Darby, Richie Burke, Ivan Ussach, Steve Von Fange, Norm Getsinger, John Kirchner, Mary Walsh, Jeff and Theresa Light, Jim and Carolyn Manwaring, Bob and Pat Maldoven, Lee Hitt, Barry Ferguson, Larry Conners, Emory Conners, Ellen Timbers, Irene Timbers, Joe Daczewitz, Henry B. Wood, H.B. Wood, Louise Bondalid, Michelle Powell, the Rappahannock Lions Club, and the Rappahannock Historical Society. I do not know who was in charge of cleaning up; however, by 3 p.m. Sunday, nobody would have known that Woodville had hosted 1,000 or so people the day before.
